**Another Load, A New Beginning**
**Wally Walls** started delivering infill walls on this high rise project for Tandem Development in Chicago. Tandem chose **Wally** to expedite the building enclosure through the winter, understanding that once the light gauge insulated walls are installed, the workers are working inside the building, greatly reducing winter general conditions and shortening the construction timeline (not to mention the tremendous insulation value over the long-haul). Who knew that time was money and that lower energy costs increases NOI? Tandem Development did, that’s who!

**Wally Walls** was chosen to provide light gauge, insulated, energy efficient walls for this development in Bath, ME. Truth be told, we are not contracted to build very many single family homes. In most instances, typical developers sacrifice envelope quality and focus on granite counter tops and marble master bathrooms. Let me let you in on a secret: Buyers want homes that don’t have mold in the walls and don’t cost a fortune to heat and cool. Buyers today are more savvy and demand **better constructed homes**. Then again, who really needs better air quality and lower energy bills?

**DON’T SACRIFICE QUALITY IN TYPE V CONSTRUCTION**
In construction they say you can have two of three things: Quality, Speed, Price. This is often never more true than in Type V Construction, which allows combustible materials to be used throughout. By definition, these materials are less safe and often do not stand the test of time the way a Type I building might. But, you can have both. By utilizing **Wally Walls** for the building envelope only, your project will receive the benefit of the best insulated exterior wall product on the market and not blow the budget. For pennies more, you can reduce the energy costs for your building in the long term, increasing NOI, and reduce your construction timeline by installing **Wally Walls** modular 4” or 6” modular panels together with your wood trusses, decking, and interior framing. **We Do More Than Deliver Walls**
Sure they are cool: Actually *Super Cool*. But **Wally Walls** is more than a manufacturing company pumping out structural, energy efficient cold form steel modular walls. **Team Wally** solves problem. Recently, a project was faced with an expensive connection detail that would have cost the project tens of thousands of dollars in specialty products and inefficient framing. Most companies would have sat idle, minded their own business, and not got involved in a problem that was not theirs. Not us. Inefficiency bothers us to our core and we seek always to assist our clients in their efforts to *build better*. **Wally’s Team** suggested a better detail that met the stringent needs of the code enforcers, made the lives of the trades easier, and saved the developer tons of money. *Building Better* is a team sport and while it is safe to just stay in your lane, doing so all of the time does not help your team’s success. **Wally** is committed to the project’s success first and foremost.

Finally, a break in the weather. Not that it matters when you **Build With Wally**. Panels go together on site like an erector set whether in the dead of winter or the dog days of summer, saving time and $$$$$. Putting the finishing touches on tomorrow’s shipment of 2nd Floor Panels to a job site on the North Side of Chicago. Blessed today to have a committed team in place to ensure success. A shipment is the culmination of great engineering, detailed panelization drawings, specialized material ordering, outstanding carpentry, dedicated production workers, unparalleled production supervision, strong back-end staffing and awesome clientele. We are thankful everyday.

**THEN...AND NOW**
I know this did not happen overnight, but it sure seems like it did. In just over 2 years we went from an empty building to needing more floor space. A quick shout out to everyone that transformed more than the space we occupy (did I mention that we need more space!). Modular construction is no longer the exception to the rule - it is the rule. Building with ***better*** materials is also no longer the exception. Meeting stricter energy codes is a huge challenge, and so is erecting a project in a timely manner. There is no argument to be made in favor of field erected, stick built construction with poor performance. Similarly, light gauge structural framing provides the very best flexibility, and cost performance ratios when compared to masonry or red iron systems when light gauge is also an option. I guess if you look at the picture above you’ll understand that a lot of people have already figured that out.
